Archery Team’s Early Departure Request Receives Favorable Response from CdM
Partaiberita.com – The Chef de Mission for Indonesia’s contingent at the upcoming Asian Games 2026, Todotua Pasaribu, has given a positive response to the archery team’s proposal to leave for Japan ahead of schedule. The delegation will head to Aichi-Nagoya, where the competition is set to take place.
Reasons Behind the Proposal
The archery squad expressed their desire to travel earlier because their sport begins on September 25, 2026. Meanwhile, the competition venues will already be accessible starting September 22-23 of that year. According to the current organizational plan, athletes are scheduled to depart only two days before their events commence. This timeframe is considered insufficient for proper preparation.
Through this early departure, athletes would gain valuable time to acclimate to local conditions and familiarize themselves with the competition arenas before official matches begin.
CdM’s Commitment to Athlete Needs
Todotua clarified that the suggestion submitted by Persatuan Panahan Indonesia (Perpani) will undergo thorough discussion alongside the archery team leadership. He emphasized that all non-technical requirements for each sport will be systematically documented to ensure maximum facilitation.
“After this, we will have serious discussions about what other non-technical needs relate to departure. For instance, if there are requests to leave earlier than planned, we will prepare accordingly,” stated Todotua, as reported on Thursday (July 23, 2026).
The 46-year-old official further explained that his visits to various sports divisions serve a crucial purpose: guaranteeing that both athletes and officials can conduct their preparations without external disruptions. Consequently, every supporting element has become a primary focus for the CdM team.
The early departure request will certainly be among the key considerations as the CdM aligns these specific needs with the overall departure schedule for the Indonesian contingent.
